Curry Soba & Fresh Vegetable Tempura | Fureai-Soko (ふれあい倉庫) | Tobetsu

Tobetsu is an agricultural town, 30 mins away from Sapporo.
Today I'll show you "Fureai-Soko", which means a communication warehouse, featuring their local vegetables mainly!

Look at the fresh local products! The items are from the standard vegetables such as spinach to............

ingredients for pickles such as cabbages, daikon radishes and turnips to............

something unique such as iceplants like this↓
All of them are local products.

You can also buy the local juice, rice and so on!

One of my friend recommends this soba noodle shop and that's why I came here today!

First, we checked the menu. I want to eat something very local!

I've found the great one; soba noodles with fresh (morning-picked) vegetable tempura! Sounds perfect to me!

And we ordered the "soup curry soba" which my friends recommends. The board has producers' names of vegetables that the restaurant uses. I like this idea.

The curry soba is so famous that some magazines feature the restaurant!

Here comes the unique noodles!

The meat and vegetables on the curry soup is produced here in Tobetsu. The combination of curry and soba is rare, but it's very good! You must love it!

The set includes the tomato juice, which is produced by a local farmer. This is really rich and thick! Yummy x 2!

This is a tempura soba set!

The soba noodles are thicker than the normal ones.

This is what we were waiting for! The vegetables were picked this morning. The fresh ones tastes very different, delicious, marvelous, super, and wonderful!

Last, but not least we enjoyed the soba soup.

I love seasonal foods which are not available anywhere!

HUG Mart & Eat (北海道産食彩HUGマート・イート)| Hokkaido Food Market & Eat-in Corner | Tanukikoji in Sapporo

"HUG" is a food market filled with Hokkaido products such as local vegetables and other ingredients, located in the Tanukikoji shopping arcade, which extends 1 km east-west from the West 1 block to the West 7 block.

It consists of two sections; the "HUG Market" and the "HUG Eat".
The HUG Mart is a kind of supermarket dealing with local products. Hokkaido is famous for delicious vegetables and dairy products, and you can buy high-quality products at reasonable prices.

The HUG Eat is an eat-in corner and you can select what you want to eat among several restaurants, featuring Hokkaido ingredients.
I visited there with my friends and shared the items with each other!

Today's choices are............
■Kan-no-Kaori (Korean bar)

・Bibimbap
It's a Korean dish: hot rice mixed with seasoned vegetables. I love the crispy rice part!

■Sapporo Sushi Tatsu (sushi bar)

・Seafood bowl
You can eat it at a reasonable rice!

■Ooakkeshi (Oyster bar)
Akkeshi is famous as a oyster production site, located in the eastern part of Hokkaido. The bar uses big oysters caught in the town.

・Oyster rice
Look at it! We enjoyed the huge oysters and rice absorbed oyster juice!

・Grilled hokke (Atka mackerel)
Hokke is a popular fish in Hokkaido. It's also HUGE!!!!

Sanma (Saury) sushi
Rice is rolled with grilled sanma. It goes well with beer because it's a little bit spicy.

・Deep-fried oyster
We really enjoyed oyster juice! Yummy x 2!

・Raw oyster
I don't have to explain about it. This is the king of oyster dishes!

■Grass Land (Shiraoi beef bar)
Shiraoi is famous as a beef production site, located in the southern part of Hokkaido. The bar has several items, using the brand beef.

・Shiraoi beef hamburger NEO

The set includes fried potatoes, which were produced in Hokkaido and very sweet!

The hamburger includes local cheese and vegetables.

Yummy x 2!

Except the restaurants we used today, you can find a soba noodle bar, a yakitori (grilled chicken) bar, a wine bar, a pork bowl bar, and sweets corner in the HUG Eat, featuring Hokkaido ingredients!

Palazzo Del Freddo (Gelato Shop)@Iwase Farm in Sunagawa

Sunagawa, 1.5 hr away from Sapporo, is famous for delicious sweets, using local high-quality ingredients such as milk, flour, and fruits. It even has the "Sweets Road" in the downtown area :-)

Today, I'll show you a popular gelato shop in the city!

Iwase Farm has 130 yr history in the dairy husbandry industry and runs a gelato shop, "Palazzo Del Freddo", in the compound.

There are several take-out items such as cheese cakes, chocolate desserts,

and several kinds of ice cream!

They won the "Milk Award" in a sweets competition in 2006! Wow!

Here are the gelato!!! The kinds/ flavors of gelato are depending on the season.

What should I order????

The shop has some kinds of sherbet, too.
This is the "tropical sherbet". It contains several flavors of tropical fruits!

This is the "blood orange sherbet". I like the citrus flavor!

Here comes getalo!!!
We ordered the "pumpkin" and "green tea".
The pumpkin tastes real pumpkin, a little bit sweet, but not too sweet! I like the natural taste!
The green tea flavor goes well with the milk gelato. Perfect, isn't it??

The "strawberry mille-fueille" is loved especially among young ladies!
If you want to enjoy the high-quality milk flavor, I recommend the vanilla here!

We really enjoyed the gelato here in Sunagawa!

Stone Hearth-Baked Bread (石窯パン) & Pizzeria Ripple (リップル) | Ishikari

Ishikari, 1 hr away from Sapporo, is a coastal city and blessed with delicious seafood and agricultural products.

I'll show you the best pizzeria & bakery in the city (or Hokkaido???).
It's really difficult to find the shop. When you find the first nameboard on the main street, go up a slope,

go straight the slope for a while,

and you can find the second nameboard. And then go up to the dirt road again,

and you'll arrived at the restaurant!

You will see the large amount of firewood in front of you! They use a stone hearth for bread and pizza! That's why their dishes are very delicious and popular!

The flowers are very beautiful around the shop!

When you come here during the lunch hours, you usually have to wait for about 1 hr before you take a seat, but it's worth coming here.

Using the waiting time, we enjoyed shopping at the bakery section. Unfortunately, when we arrived here at around 1:30, almost all bread was already sold out.

But we bought
■Cabatta
The outside is very crispy but very fluffy inside!

■Noix raisin
It contains walnuts and raisins. I love these balance!! The texture of the bread is perfect!

■Pain de mie
They use flour produced in Hokkaido and natural yeast.

All of them were baked in the stone hearth and that's why the bread is very delicious!
Finally, we could enter the restaurant area after waiting for 1 hr.

There are large windows in front of the tables and we can enjoy the ocean and the city.

We can find wind-power plants toward north.

Now is the best season of asparagus in Hokkaido and they serve two kinds of asparagus pizza this month only. Of course, we ordered both of them :-)

This is a menu throughout the year and we picked one of the very standard but popular pizza.

It says why the pizza here is delicious. It is baked in stone hearth at the temperature of over 400 ℃. The dough is made from flour, yeast, water and salt only and fermented for a long time to extract the natural sweetness.

The ingredients including mozzarella, tomatoes, olive oil, Gorgonzola cheese, anchovy, caper, salami, and cheese are imported from Italy. They use delicious Hokkaido vegetable, too.

That is to say, the restaurant uses all the best things both from Italy and Hokkaido! Perfect :-)

This is iced coffee roasted in the stone hearth. The glass is simple but fashionable, isn't it?

This is grape juice.

We were waiting for the delicious pizza, while seating on the comfortable sofa.

Here comes the pizza!
This is the "Pizza with asparagus and prawns" cooked this month only.

The outside is very crispy but very fluffy inside! I love this tomato sauce and seasonal asparagus grown in this area!

This is another pizza in June only!

I love this Genovese sauce and Italian salami!

Don't miss the "Margarita Extra".
I think this is the king of the pizza! I love the mozzarella made of buffalo milk! Yummy x 2!

We enjoyed the lunch and the beautiful landscape in Ishikari.
