La Pecora (ラ・ペコラ)| Italian Restaurant (Milk Lamb) | Takikawa

The milk lamb season  has just begun now!
Takikawa is famous for lamb and we went to the city yesterday to enjoy the meat! It takes 1 hrs from Sapporo to Takikawa by car.

What is milk lamb?
It's meat of baby lambs which just drink their mother's milk. That's way the meat is available only in the spring time !

We visited "La Pecora (ラ・ペコラ)", an Italian restaurant in Takikawa↓

It was crowded with a lot of customers!

We ordered the milk lamb full-course :)

■Loin & liver sashimi (raw meat)
Sounds very Japanese, doesn't it?

I love the liver sashimi, dipping with some salt or perilla leaves & garlic!

■Consomme (bone &  gristle)
Wobbling!!!

■Green salad with black rice
I love it!

■Stewed organ meat with beans
This is Mr. Tender! Hahahaha!

■Pasta with some shrimps & field mustard

Field mustard is famous here in Takikawa!
I felt the spring time!

■Grilled milk lamb (three parts: rib, leg, and rack)

I love the rib the best!
But all of them were tender & delicious :)

■Brain soup
It's very creamy!!!
I really recommend it :)

Why is lamb famous in Takikawa?
It' related to the city's history.
Takikawa has the oldest livestock experimental station in Hokkaido and local people here has long eaten lamb.
Gingisukan is one of the popular local dishes in Hokkaido.

Try All Tofu in the Shop !!! --- "Yusui-no-Sato" (湧水の里)--- in Makkari

I went to Makkari Village the other day.
How beautiful it is!

There is my favorite tofu shop, Yusui no Sato, near Mt. Yotei (1,898m).

There are unique items other than normal tofu!

■Sake Jelly■

■Fried Tofu■

■Tofu with Several Flavors■

■Tofu Doughnut■

■Soy Milk Dessert■

■Bracken Starch Jelly with Soybean Powder■

Surprisingly, we can try all tofu in the shop!!!
It's like a free restaurant :)

Of course, I tried everything!!!

These are what I bought!

This tofu set includes tofu soup and tempura flake topping.

Fried tofu with green soybeans.
It really suits with beer!

I like this arrowroot cake!
Yummy x 2 :)

The name of the shop, Yusui no Sato, means a land with spring water!
Next to the shop, we can collect delicious water, which is from Mt. Yotei!

It takes 70-80 year for the water to travel from the mountain to the surface!

The shop uses the great water and local soybeans to make tofu!
That's why the tofu is wonderful :)

Why don't you come to Hokkaido and enjoy incredibly delicious tofu!

Aburiya (炙屋)| Izakaya | Susukino in Sapporo

Susukino area in Sapporo has thousands of Izakaya, or Japanese-style bar restaurants, and we chose "Aburiya(炙屋)" yesterday.↓

Looks very Japanese and our guests from Thailand took a lot of pics here!

I like this  Izakaya because it serves fresh local products.
This sashimi includes salmon, sea urchin, yellow tail, tsubu shellfish, botanebi prawn & tuna!
All of them were freshly caught in Hokkaido!

Tsukune, or Japanese shish kebab, with egg.
Of course this chicken is a local product here in Hokkaido!

Hokkaido potato with Hokkaido butter!
The butter is very rich!

This char-broiled beef & its tongue was very tender.
Do you know that Tokachi in Hokkaido is famous for beef?

Yum-yum!!

We ordered other items such as salad,

and some cooked vegetables!

We enjoyed the dinner yesterday!
