Autumnal Thanks Festival (秋の感謝祭)| Former Machimura Farm (旧町村農場)| Ebetsu

We are now in Former Machimura Farm in Ebetsu, 20 minutes away from Sapporo.

Machimura Farm is one of the oldest dairy farms in Hokkaido, in which we can enjoy cow barns influenced by Professor F. H. King of the University of Wisconsin. As I've been Madison, WI, I really love this atmosphere!!

We just relaxed in the compound for a while..........

Look at the objects! How cute they are!!

The purpose to come here is to enjoy Autumnal Thanks Festival.

Let's enter the barn!

Wow! Wow! Wow!
There are several unique vegetables produced in this city, such as Chinese lantern plants (ほおずき)!!!

 How about this?

I loved this colorful radish (紅くるり大根), and made pickles at home.

Except fresh vegetables, some dried vegetables were sold in this barn.

This carrot pound cakes (にんじん朝ご飯) sounds very healthy.... It has a half of carrot!!!! Of course I bought it!

Smells very wonderful.........

I love roasted corn with soy source! Yummy x 2 in my tummy!!!

We really enjoyed the local harvest festival!

Just for reference, the compound has a dairy museum, where we can learn the history of Machimura farm and Hirotaka Machimura (町村 敬貴), a pioneer of dairy farming in Hokkaido. If you want to enjoy the current Machimura farm, it takes 10 minutes from here, which has a cafe serving delicious milk desserts such as ice cream, donutses, cheese, pudding and so on. Sounds perfect! If you are interested in the cafe, please visit my other post→.

Saturday Market (農家のかあさん土曜市)| Farmers Market | Ebetsu

I really recommend this farmers market held in Ebetu, 20 minutes away from Sapporo! The venue has several booths selling a lot of local products made of vegetables, milk, and meat produced in this city!

This is the event venue, "Ebetsu River Disaster Prevention Station (江別河川防災ステーション)"↓

This event is held once a month during the winter time, when farmers make and sell delicious processed food such as jam, ketchup, and cakes with their own agricultural products!

Look at the city mascot named "Ebechu"! So cute♪
But when we look at it from the back........

We've found his secret! Hahaha!

Let's go upstairs and observe a HUGE ship object!

"Kamikawa maru" was used in the 19th and 20th century, when Ishikari River was the only channel to bring goods from the ocean to inner Hokkaido.

Actually one of the reasons to come here was to enjoy a special lunch set made of local products cooked by their producers! Sounds very delicious and healthy!

And guess what?
The set is only 500 yen! Unbelievable!!

Here comes the lunch set!

I really love this hayashi rice or hashed beef with rice. This tomato source tastes very rich and delicious!
Tomato, tomato source, ketchup, vegetables, and cheese are local products.

The pickles are of course home-made↓ We usually eat Fukujin-zuke, a kind of pickles, with curry and rice, but this Fukujin-zuke tastes really different! Tastes very vegetables!!!

This locally-grown potato is very dense, steaming, and appetizing♪

We also love this potato salad made of okara, or tofu-refuse, which is high in protein & dietary fibers, and low in calorie! Great for our body, isn't it?
Of course, every ingredient in this salad is from this city!

Last but not least, we enjoyed this tomato jelly made of local grape tomatoes! Yummy x 2!

Would you like to cook all the dishes?
The recipes are distributed at the cafeteria and we can buy all the ingredients on the 1st floor!

After having the lunch, we came downstairs and enjoyed shopping!

Look at the whey milk pork sausage! Tastes very wonderful!!!

The tube cakes are made of Hokkaido local flour!

Look at the price tag!
The melon jellies are usually 1,050 yen, but today only 500 yen! Wow! Wow! Wow!

The list price of this pork motsu (guts) is 500 yen but today 500 yen in the three bags!!

One bag of five pieces of yakitori, (grilled chicken or pork) is only 100 yen!

5 kg of potatoes are only 200 yen!!!

We were so surprised at the prices!!!

The venue has something unique, too. This booth sold some unusual kinds of juice, and.....

We bought yacon juice! The vegetable is rich in oligosaccaride, polyphenol, and dietary fibers, which we believe has anti-aging effects and tastes very delicious!

We also bought snack buns such as egg and sausage buns!

We really enjoyed the farmers market today!
I love the local commodities made by the producers, using their own agricultural products!

Takatoshi Farm (タカトシ牧場)| Eniwa

Takatoshi Farm is near Chitose AP and designed by Taka & Toshi, famous comedians, who are the main personalities in a famous local TV program, in which the farm and its activities are featured. We went there to eat delicious ice cream today!!!

The colors of leaves are changed to red, yellow, and orange like this and very beautiful!

Except dairy cows,

there is a small petting zoo (ふれあい動物広場)and

we can interact with goats,

emus and so on!

Look at this!
The chair is very cute!

Some funny objects including a HUUUUUUUGE pellet drum are displayed in the compound and we can have a wonderful time!

Wow! There is a shrine here, too!

We can enjoy milking, feeding calves, and butter making in this farm.

When you come here, please visit "Grace Court", an ice cream shop!

Let me see........... What should I order???

I've found chocolate latte, a seasonal ice flavor!

This is milk soft ice cream! Tastes really milk!

This is Mascarpone flavor, the most popular ice cream in the shop! Yummy x 2!

We really enjoyed the farm today!
