Okhotsk Beer Factory (オホーツクビアファクトリー)| Microbrewery | Kitami

Would you like to drink micro-brewed beer made of local malt? How about "Okhotsk Beer Factory (オホーツクビアファクトリー)" located in Kitami?

Let's enter it!

Surprisingly (or natually??), we ordered all kinds of beer! Hahaha!

■Pilsener (ピルスナー)
It is the most popular beer type in Japan. One of the features of their Pilsener is to be brewed with lower-fermentation. We really enjoyed its hop aroma and smoothness! This beer got the silver prize at the Japan Beer Grand Prix in 2000!

■Ale (エール)
This beer is brewed from malted barley with top-fermenting yeast, which ferments beer quickly, giving it the sweet, full-bodied and fruity aroma!
It also got the silver prize at the grand prix in 2000!

■Unfiltered Ale (エール濾過前)
Unfiltered beer sounds wonderful! This is available only at this restaurant! Yummy x 2!!! You should try it!!

■Weissbier (ヴァイツェン)
It is fruity and less bitter, and popular especially among women! This got the gold prize at the grand prix in 2000!!!

■Mildstout (マイルドスタウト)
This dark beer is made of roasted malt, barley, hops water and yeast, and selected as one of the 500 delicious beers!

Kitami city reminds me of fried noodles with salt sauce (塩焼きそば)!

Voila!
This is the very local fried noodles! Usually typical fried noodles are topped with pork and some vegetables such as cabbage, while this chow mein is topped with scallops and some vegetables such as onions produced in Kitami!
(* Kitami is proud of the No. 1 market share of onions in Japan.)

Please sprinkle dried salmon and pour special salt sauce before eating it! Yummy x 2!!

We really enjoyed the delicious micro-brewed beers and special local noodles at this restaurant!

Menmen (めんめん)| Japanese Vermicelli Restaurant | Iwamizawa

Have you ever heard or tried somen noodles or Japanese vermicelli? They are made of flour, and very common noodles especially during the summer time. Usually dried somen are used, but today I'll show you "Menmen (めんめん)", a somen restaurant, using fresh noodles, which are much much more delicious than dried ones. Sounds yummy x 2, doesn't it?

They serve cold and hot somen, and some other dishes such as a chicken bowl, ramen noodles and so on........

Voila!
I ordered a chicken bowl and cold somen "first"!

I love this half-cooked egg! Yummy x 2!!

This is a cold somen. I'm sure this is a king of somen! The fresh noodles are very elastic & chewy like udon noodles, and unbelievably delicious!!! Please try it!!!

This poster says they use special chicken for the soup and excellent brand flour for somen. Well, well, well, the wheat for the noodles are produced in this area!!! I love something local!
After reading it..................

I ordered hot ones, too! Hahaha!
Usually I prefer cold noodles because cold ones are more springy, but their hot somen are very recommendable!!! 
Can I have another helping? Just kidding! (←You ate too much!!!)

This restaurant is located in Iwamizawa, 40 minutes away from Sapporo.

Asian Kitchen AGO-HIGE (亜細亜の台所 AGO-HIGE)| Asian Restaurant | Sapporo

"Asian Kitchen AGO-HIGE (亜細亜の台所 AGO-HIGE)", located near JR Sapporo Station, serves delicious Asian food to suit Japanese tastes.

Let's enter it!

It is a very popular restaurant, and packed with a lot of Asian food lovers especially during the lunch hours.

They serve several types of pho (Vietnamese rice noodles) and Thai curry for the lunch hours.

And we ordered both of the main dishes! Hahaha!

Smells very Southeast Asia!!
I love the condiment and spices that are used there!!

Voila!
This is "Sapporo pho". Why Sapporo? Because they use fresh noodles, which are made of Yukuhikari, a brand rice produced in Rankoshi, Hokkaido.

Some potherb mustard, not coriander, is on the noodles to suit Japanese tastes.
Although I prefer coriander,  I like this Sapporo verion, too.

The fresh noodles were very elastic and chewy!! Yummy x 2!!

I added a lot of nam pla, Thai condiment, to the pho!! I love Thai food!

The chicken was very tender and tasty!
Just for reference, clam pho in this restaurant is also recommendable! Please try it!!

This is a Thai green curry set!

This small salad and

rice come with the curry!

Look at it! It contains a lot of vegetables!!

It is comfortably spicydelicious, and really recommendable!!

This is the No. 1 lunch item in this restaurant!

Chinese Restaurant Hotei (中国料理 布袋) | Sapporo

I'm sure "Hotei (布袋)" serves the best zangi or fried chicken, in Sapporo! It is always packed with a lot of customers especially during the lunch time. Let's enter it!

I love this very cozy restaurant with very friendly staff! The owner used to work at Sapporo Grand Hotel as a cook! You can imagine how delicious the food he makes is!

This is the menu↓ Very reasonable, isn't it?? This is one of the reasons why this restaurant is very popular! Actually we can enjoy huge amount of delicious dishes at inexpensive prices in this restaurant!! Perfect, isn't it??

This mabo noodles or noodles with Sichuan style tofu is one of the popular dishes here↓

First, we enjoyed dumplings!

This is the special sauce and if you want............

please add two kinds of very fragrant home-made Chili oil to it!

It really suits with beer!

Voila!!!
Here comes zangi, or fried chicken, one of their recommendable dishes! It is very delicious and HUGE! I'll show you how HUGE it is!

I put my iPhone beside it.
See! It's very BIG! The dish has seven pieces of HUGE zangi and the price is only 530 yen! Unbelievable!!

One piece of zangi is as giant as an iPhone!!!

First, please enjoy zangi as it is. It's very crispy!!!
Next, please pour this special sauce over it!

You can enjoy 油淋鶏 or fried chicken with fragrant sauce!
I'm sure this zangi is the best in Sapporo!

We cannot stop drinking beer. Hahaha!

This is another specialty, mabo noodles or noodles with Sichuan style tofu! As a lot of sauce is on noodles, it is really difficult to find noodles first!

Please come here with your friends, and share the zangi and mabo noodles with them! I guess about 90% of their customers order these two dishes!

I really recommend this restaurant!
