Spice Cafe Verodeca (スパイスカフェ ヴェロデカ)| Soup Curry | Sapporo

After visiting Chocolate Factory (白い恋人パーク), we went to "Spice Cafe Verodeca (スパイスカフェ ヴェロデカ)", a popular soup curry restaurant for local people↓

The location is perfect. It takes a few minutes from Chocolate Factory to this restaurant!

First please choose a kind of soup, main ingredients, drink, and hotness

I chose monthly curry this time.

Voila!
This is "soup curry with minced lamb and Chinese chive (粗挽きラムとニラのスープカレー)",  monthly curry in March, with Kuromuma broth (黒旨), rich broth with black sesame oil flavor.

Largely-minced lamb is great! 11 kinds of ingredients including Chinese chive, carrot, broccoli, potato are also yummy x 2!!
The broth is very rich, and I love fragrant of black sesame oil!!

It comes with rice↓

Just for reference, this is "seafood curry", monthly curry last month.
I chose Itumono (いつもの), a regular broth.
If you like seafood, you must love it!

How about "ton toro nikomi (とんトロ煮込み)", soup curry with simmered tender pork?
I chose tomato based broth (うまトマ). Tomato broth goes well with tender pork!

I always order Lassi, yogurt drink, when I eat soup curry.

My guests from Hawaii were so happy to enjoy delicious soup curry here.
I know tourist restaurants are good, but most of my guests want to enjoy popular restaurants and cafes that local people, not tourists, visit.
I think "Spice Cafe Verodeca (スパイスカフェ ヴェロデカ)" is one of them!

Machinosushiya Siki Hanamaru(町のすし家 四季 花まる)| Sushi Bar | Susukino

If you want to eat sushi at reasonable prices in Susukino (すすきの), how about "Machinosushiya Siki Hanamaru(町のすし家 四季 花まる)"?

My guest wanted to eat something local, we ordered Hokkaido fish mainly.......

■Cod Soft Roe
This one can be eaten during the winter time only! How creamy it is!!
When I explained about what it is to my guest, he was a little bit surprised! Hahaha!

■Sea Urchin
He really wanted to eat it before coming to Japan. Sea urchin caught off Hokkaido is very tasty!!

■Jumbo Shrimp
This is the most popular local prawn in Hokkaido! How big ans sweet!!

■Ootoro (Tuna)
It was melt instantly after we put it in our mouth!! Amazing!! Ootoro (大トロ) is my favorite!!

■Abalone
This is Hokkaido abalone. We ordered what we want to eat only, right?? Hahaha!

■Sakhalin Surf Clam
He had never eaten it, but when he tried it, we smiled and smiled. I really recommend this Hokkaido clam!

■Whelk
He had also never tried it, but he loves it very much now!! We really enjoyed its texture and sweetness.

■Yellowtail
Winter remained us of yellowtail!! Do you agree with us?

■Conger
It was very fluffy and yummy x 2!!

■Salmon Roe
Salmon is one of the most popular and delicious fish in Hokkaido. Do you want to try it, too? (Of course!!!)

■Cod Roe
He had never seen it, and we ordered it. Well, well, well, we tried male and female roe this time!!

We had a wonderful time today!!
I really recommend this reasonable sushi bar in Susukino.

65th SAPPORO SNOW FESTIVAL (さっぽろ雪まつり)

The 65th SAPPORO SNOW FESTIVAL (さっぽろ雪まつり) has just started today (Feb. 5th-11th), and I checked it for a tour from tomorrow.

There are several booths serving hot drinks and food free of charge! I'm sure my guests will love it!

I walked from 8 chome to 2 chome along Odori Park (大通公園), a main venue of the festival.

As I love Malaysia, I tries Malaysian food, too!

How attempting the food court is!

Among a lot of booths, I chose this Betsukai stall, because I've stayed Betsukai (別海) for one month as an interpreter.

Do you have any idea what kind of burger it is?

Winter Olympics in Sochi is around the corner. I hope Team Japan will get a lot of medals there!

I really love Taiwanese food, and looked for their food stalls, but there are NO food booths here!!! WHY???? Hahaha!

I was so lucky to see athletes practicing snowboarding here!

As I also snowboard, I really enjoyed it!

When you come to the festival, please wear a thick jacket!

Stew Restaurant Pot-au-feu (シチュー屋さん ポトフ)| Sapporo

If you ask me which stew restaurant is the best in Sapporo...............
A. I love "Stew Restaurant Pot-au-feu (シチュー屋さん ポトフ)" the best!!!

The seats are all taken usually during the lunch hours.
Yes! The restaurant is very popular!!

Let's wait for a while.......

This is the menu↓
(I've already decided today's stew before coming here.... Hahaha!)

All stew comes with salad,

bread or rice, and

a drink.

Voila!
This is beef stew!!!
They simmer stew for eight hours, and the demi-glace sauce is super delicious!!

You don't need a knife to cut the very tender beef!!!

This is my favorite stew in this restaurant!!
"Americaine stew (アメリケーヌシチュー)" contains delicious prawn juice, and yummy x 2 in my tummy!!!

Look at the prawn,

scallops, cod,

whelks, and asari clams!!! All of the ingredients are from Hokkaido!!! How wonderful it is!!

Last but not least we enjoyed cake and ice cream.

I really recommend this stew restaurant, but they are always crowded. Be careful!!
