Fukunoie Tanaka (ふくの家たなか)| Torafugu (Tiger Puffer) Specialty Restaurant | Sapporo

Have you ever eaten fugu?

Fugu is a very delicious and recommendable fish, but can be lethally poisonous!! Oops! Therefore, it must be carefully prepared to remove toxic parts and to avoid contaminating the meat. The restaurant preparation of fugu is very strictly controlled by the law in Japan and only chefs who have qualified through rigorous training are allowed to deal with the fish.

Torafugu (Tiger Puffer) is the most delicious and expensive in fugu family. It is so tasty that I really love it! Today we visited "Fukunoie Tanaka (ふくの家たなか)", a famous fugu specialty restaurant in Sapporo↓

We can book a private dining room if you group is consist of more than two people. Wonderful service, isn't it?
This horigoratsu which is a low, covered table table placed over a hole in the floor of a Japanese -style room makes us very relax! I love this atmosphere!

Well, well, well, let's have a party!

We ordered a torahugu with its shirako (soft roe) set↓

Do you know what kind of sake is in front of the beer bottle? This is hot sake with grilled fins of torahugu. I really recommend hugu sake, which has very distinctive aroma!

I'll show you their delicious dishes in the set menu!

■Jellied torafugu broth
I love this texture and flavor!

Sashimi and boiled torafugu
Their torafugu is delivered alive every day from Shimonoseki, Kyusyu. It is very fresh and their sashimi tastes enormously fantastic!
We can eat several parts of torahugu! Yummy x 2!!

I'm sure this is the king of sashimi!

■Grilled soft roe
This is very creamy!

I've never eaten such creamy row ever!!!!

■Deep-fried torahugu
This is very crispy and tasty! We can feel their professional skills!

Torafugu stew pot
I really recommend it!! Especially rice porridge with tarafugu broth is more than perfect!
First, they served some garland chrysanthemum and kuzu starch noodles.

Of course we can eat such big soft roe in a stew pot, too!

This is fish meat of torahugu! Please dip it in ponzu (Japanese sauce made primarily of soy sauce and citrus juice). Wonderful!!

They served some pickles, that means they will serve rice porridge with torafugu broth!
Usually after eating stew pots, we put rice in the remaining soup and cook delicious rice porridge! Sounds very appetizing, doesn't it???

The rice absorbed torafugu and vegetable juice!

Last but not least, we enjoyed yuzu citrus sherbet!
