Sake and Soba Kinsuian （酒とそば 錦水庵）| Soba Restaurant | Kuriyama （栗山）

We came to Kuriyama （栗山）, 1 hour away from Sapporo, to enjoy delicious sake. Let's go to "Kobayashi Sake Brewery （小林酒造）" first↓

We can try almost all kinds of sake brewed here↓ Wonderful, isn't it?

After enjoying fragrant sake, we went to "Sake and Soba Kinsuian （酒とそば 錦水庵）", a popular soba restaurant.

The house was built in the early 1900's and renovated as a restaurant recently. I love this nostalgic atmosphere!!!

If you love sake, I recommend prix-fixe menu.

They make soba from buckwheat produced in Hokkaido and mother water for sake. How great it is!

I'll show you a 2,000 yen prix-fixe.

■Baked soba miso （そば焼き味噌）
It really really really goes well with sake!!! You could drink a bottle of sake with this small amount of saba miso!!! Hahaha!

■Soba Salad （そばサラダ）
The topping is fried soba. How amazing it is!

■Deep-fried eggplants with minced duck （鴨みそ田楽）
The duck meat is seasoned with soy sauce and miso, and sooooooooooo delicious!!!

■Grilled duck （鴨料理）
Duck produced in Fukagawa （深川） is very famous. When you come to Hokkaido, you should try it!

We really enjoyed sake with these dishes.......

■Two kinds of soba （そば合盛）
I love this course.
Inaka soba （田舎そば） is made of whole grains of buckwheat. That's why it is dark brown. And seiro （せいろ） is made of milled buckwheat.

Both of them are made of same buckwheat, but have different fragrance!!! We enjoyed comparing with each other....

Just for reference,
this is soba with duck tempura （鴨天そば）↓, a seasonable soba available only during the winter time.

Hot soba and cold soba taste completely different, although the noodles are the same! How interesting it is!!

The tempura absorbs the yummy x yummy broth!!

We cannot finish the course without sobayu （そば湯）, soba water.

■Soba mochi with red bean sauce （そばがきしるこ）

This is a hot dessert, which is very soft and spongy. I love it!

It goes well with green tea! I feel so happy I was born in Japan!!

Komoro Soba Stand （立喰小もろそば店）｜Iwamizawa （岩見沢）

As "Ekimae Building （駅前ビル）" located in front of JR iwamizawa Station will be rebuilt,

the history of "Komoro Soba Stand （立喰小もろそば店）"on the first floor of this building will be over................. I'm so shocked!!!!!

This soba stand is loved by a lot of local people and packed with a lot of its fans today, too!!!

Look at this↓
All main soba and udon are 350 yen only!!! Wow! Wow! Wow!
Any dish is served 10 seconds after you order!! This is the king of Japanese-style fast food!!

Voila!
I ordered "Curry Soba （カレーそば）" and "Squid Tentacle Bowl （げそ丼）".

This is very reasonable (350 yen), but the broth is so delicious that other restaurants cannot copy it.

This is the most popular dish in this stand↓ The sauce is a little bit sweet and really goes well with this squid tentacle tempra!!!

This is "Soba with Meat （肉そば）"↓
Yummy yummy!!

This stand will be closed at the end of this month (31st of Dec.).

If you want to try it, please be in a hurry!!!!

Tankei （端渓）| Soba Restaurant | Windsor Hotel TOYA

Would you like to enjoy both delicious soba and beautiful scenery at the same time? If so, I recommend Tankei （端渓） in the Windsor Hotel TOYA （ウインザーホテル洞爺）.

Let's go to the 11th floor!

Go through the fancy but peaceful corridor,

you will find "Tankei （端渓）" on your right. Let's enter it!

I love this atmosphere, especially the large bamboo decorations on the table!!!

The beautiful scenery is one of the attractions here! How picturesque Lake Toya seen from the restaurant is!

I love it!

Would you like to drink sake? Don't worry about it! They have several kinds of sake like this↓

Actually sake really goes well with soba!!

They also serve several side dishes such as king crab tempura,

roasted duck and so on......

Today I ordered "cold soba noodles with horseradish and grated radish （蝦夷山わさびおろしそば）".

The wasabi (Japanese horseradish) is not normal one, but mountain one, which has distinctive aroma, and very tasty!!

The soba is thinner than typical ones. We really enjoyed the feeling of soba going down our throat!

Yummy x 2 in my tummy!

This is "Tenseiro soba （天せいろそば）" or a cold soba and tempra set.

Only seasonable vegetables and seafood are used for the tempra! Perfect!

How shiny the soba is!!!

We really enjoyed lunch today!!

Bally Yatai （バリー屋台）| Food Stall Complex | Yubari

We visited a unique food stall complex located in Yubari （夕張） today, which still has snow even in April↓

"Bally Yatai （バリー屋台）" is next to "Hotel Mount Racey （ホテルマウントレースイ）", a ski resort hotel, and JR Yubari Station （JR夕張駅）.

Actually almost nobody was walking on the street around here, but when we enter the food stall complex..........

Wow! Wow! Wow! They were enjoying local food and beer inside!!!

There are eight food stalls in the complex, and we can bring any dish to the center tables.

We chose "Shikanotani 3 chome Shokudou （鹿の谷3丁目食堂） first!

There are a lot of fans for their curry soba↓

The soup with slices of pork and onions entangles with soba noodles like this↓ Yummy x 2!!!

After eating noodles, we put rice and half boiled egg into the soup, and made curry risotto♪

What a great idea!!!

Next we chose "Yubari ramen （夕張ラーメン）" to eat very special ramen!!

This is "Yubari kuro (black) ramen （夕張黒ラーメン）". What is black? Do you have any idea???

Surprisingly the noodles are black!!!!

Yubari used to flourish in the coal industry, and the city promotes something black like that!!!
