New Furano Prince Hotel (新富良野プリンスホテル)| Lunch Buffet

We are in New Furano Prince Hotel now↓

Let's go to the lunch buffet venue on the B1F!

It looks not special? No, no, no!!!

Look at the local fresh vegetables! How dense and rich they are!!

I also recommend the local cheese!! Furano (富良野) is famous for not only its vegetables but also its dairies!! Actually I enjoyed the cheese fondue very much!

Bread baked at the hotel is very popular!

Look at the most attractive corner at the venue!!
Can you imagine the famous local watermelons and melons are included in the buffet??

Of course I ate a looooooooooooooooot of watermelons!! Hahaha!

Are we in the heaven? I really love Furano Melons!!!

After enjoying fruits from the bottom of my heart, we should eat desserts, right? Oh.........you may think this is not good........... Don't jump to conclusion!

Look at the machine↓

Yes! We can eat lavender ice cream as much as possible!

If you want to try local products in Furano, why don't you come to New Furano Prince Hotel, and enjoy its lunch buffet?

Tomita Melon House (とみたメロンハウス)| Melon Shop | Furano

Furano is famous for its lavenders, especially in "FARM TOMITA (ファーム富田)". Actually next to the famous flower park, there is a very attractive shop!
Do you like melons? If so, let's go to  "Tomita Melon House (とみたメロンハウス)"↓ Furano Melons are sweeter but cheaper than Yubari Melons!

They sell fresh melons produced in this town.

Wow! Wow! Wow! They look very attractive, don't they? I want to eat them up! Hahaha!

I want to eat them up! Hahaha!

Yummy x 2!!!

I really recommend other sweets such as melon & milk ice cream with diced melon, milk ice cream with melon jam, and melon shake!

Except melon and milk ice cream, they serve Hokkaido strawberry ice cream↓

How about melon buns (こだわりメロンパン)?

They sell only 3,500 buns a day! Luckily we could bought it!

Hot! Hot! Hot! It was right from the oven!

Voila!
We really enjoyed this super delicious melon buns!

I also recommend their "melon omelet (メロンオムレツ)"↓

The fresh melon and melon cream are super yummy x 2!! Of course it is a home-made dessert!

Are you thirsty? If so, how about melon smoothie (メロンスムージー)?

After getting an order, they start to make smoothie.

It's a little bit sweet, but please try the seasonable drink!

When you come to FARM TOMITA, a famous lavender farm, why don't you drop by this melon paradise, too?

Lake Mashu (摩周湖) | Akan National Park

Lake Mashu (摩周湖) is in Akan National park, located in the eastern part of Hokkaido.

Look at the beautiful lake from the first observatory. The circumference of the lake is 19.8km, and its transparency is 41.6m, the deepest in the world!

It is foggy for more than 100 days a year, and is called a mysterious lake.

Am I lucky to see such a beautiful and clear lake? Actually, yes and no! We believe that if you see a clear lake, you cannot get married early!!! Hahaha!

Please enjoy the whole picture of the lake with Mt. Mashudake (857m) and Kamuishu island. Kamuishu means a God incarnated from an old lady in Ainu language.

Just for reference, when you come here during the winter time, the scenery changes dramatically like this↓

I love it, too!!!

Well, well, well, let's enter the resting house!

One of the unique souvenirs in the shop is a canned "fog" on the lake. You can mail it to your friends!! How do you like it?

After learning the history of the lake on the big screen,

we enjoyed local sweets and fruits!!

They serve three kinds of ice cream, and I chose..............................

"Mashu Blue (摩周ブルー)", which is milk soft ice cream colored with blue liqueur! Yummy x 2!!!!

How about Hokkaido melons? It is only 100 yen!!

I took a picture of the melon with Lake Mashu! How silly I am! Hahaha!

Farm Okudaira (ファーム奥平)| All You Can Eat Furano Melons (富良野メロン食べ放題)| Furano

We came to "Farm Okudaira (ファーム奥平)" to eat Furano melons as many as possible today! Sounds wonderful, doesn't it?

Let's go to his garage! Why garage?

This is the venue of all-you-can-eat-Furano melons! Are you ready? Hahaha!

"Please enjoy my melons as much as possible!", said Mr. Okudaira (奥平さん), the owner of this farm. He is so friendly that we became his big fan instantly!!!

Voila!!!
He cultivates melons with a lot of loving care!

Once we finished the melon, he took another melon from a refrigerator, and cut it for us! Yummy x 2!! It's very sweet!!! He harvested these melons adjusting the day we came here!

After enjoying his melon from our heart, we visited his melon farm. I immediately felt he made every effort to raise these delicious melons!

This is his farm of sugar beets.

We really enjoyed his tasty melons and conversation with Mr. Okudaira!

P.S.
He is a chairman of the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters Fan Club, Furano Branch (北海道日本ハムファイターズふらの後援会). Cool!
