Autumnal Thanks Festival (秋の感謝祭)| Former Machimura Farm (旧町村農場)| Ebetsu

We are now in Former Machimura Farm in Ebetsu, 20 minutes away from Sapporo.

Machimura Farm is one of the oldest dairy farms in Hokkaido, in which we can enjoy cow barns influenced by Professor F. H. King of the University of Wisconsin. As I've been Madison, WI, I really love this atmosphere!!

We just relaxed in the compound for a while..........

Look at the objects! How cute they are!!

The purpose to come here is to enjoy Autumnal Thanks Festival.

Let's enter the barn!

Wow! Wow! Wow!
There are several unique vegetables produced in this city, such as Chinese lantern plants (ほおずき)!!!

 How about this?

I loved this colorful radish (紅くるり大根), and made pickles at home.

Except fresh vegetables, some dried vegetables were sold in this barn.

This carrot pound cakes (にんじん朝ご飯) sounds very healthy.... It has a half of carrot!!!! Of course I bought it!

Smells very wonderful.........

I love roasted corn with soy source! Yummy x 2 in my tummy!!!

We really enjoyed the local harvest festival!

Just for reference, the compound has a dairy museum, where we can learn the history of Machimura farm and Hirotaka Machimura (町村 敬貴), a pioneer of dairy farming in Hokkaido. If you want to enjoy the current Machimura farm, it takes 10 minutes from here, which has a cafe serving delicious milk desserts such as ice cream, donutses, cheese, pudding and so on. Sounds perfect! If you are interested in the cafe, please visit my other post→.

Farm Okudaira (ファーム奥平)| All You Can Eat Furano Melons (富良野メロン食べ放題)| Furano

We came to "Farm Okudaira (ファーム奥平)" to eat Furano melons as many as possible today! Sounds wonderful, doesn't it?

Let's go to his garage! Why garage?

This is the venue of all-you-can-eat-Furano melons! Are you ready? Hahaha!

"Please enjoy my melons as much as possible!", said Mr. Okudaira (奥平さん), the owner of this farm. He is so friendly that we became his big fan instantly!!!

Voila!!!
He cultivates melons with a lot of loving care!

Once we finished the melon, he took another melon from a refrigerator, and cut it for us! Yummy x 2!! It's very sweet!!! He harvested these melons adjusting the day we came here!

After enjoying his melon from our heart, we visited his melon farm. I immediately felt he made every effort to raise these delicious melons!

This is his farm of sugar beets.

We really enjoyed his tasty melons and conversation with Mr. Okudaira!

P.S.
He is a chairman of the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters Fan Club, Furano Branch (北海道日本ハムファイターズふらの後援会). Cool!

Takatoshi Farm (タカトシ牧場)| Eniwa

Takatoshi Farm is near Chitose AP and designed by Taka & Toshi, famous comedians, who are the main personalities in a famous local TV program, in which the farm and its activities are featured. We went there to eat delicious ice cream today!!!

The colors of leaves are changed to red, yellow, and orange like this and very beautiful!

Except dairy cows,

there is a small petting zoo (ふれあい動物広場)and

we can interact with goats,

emus and so on!

Look at this!
The chair is very cute!

Some funny objects including a HUUUUUUUGE pellet drum are displayed in the compound and we can have a wonderful time!

Wow! There is a shrine here, too!

We can enjoy milking, feeding calves, and butter making in this farm.

When you come here, please visit "Grace Court", an ice cream shop!

Let me see........... What should I order???

I've found chocolate latte, a seasonal ice flavor!

This is milk soft ice cream! Tastes really milk!

This is Mascarpone flavor, the most popular ice cream in the shop! Yummy x 2!

We really enjoyed the farm today!

Mamehina (まめひな)| Farmer's Soba Restauranto | Ebetsu

"Mamehina (まめひな)" is a soba (buckwheat) restaurant run by farmers, and using the vegetables grown by themselves.

It is located on Route 46 in Ebetsu. When you find this sign, you will find the restaurant!

It is surrounded by the nature like this↓

Before we entered the restaurant, we strolled around their vegetable fields. Look at the corn! Looks very delicious!

There are several plastic greenhouses and

vegetables such as tomatoes were grown inside↓

Just behind the restaurant, there are red brick warehouses constructed in the 1950's and seemed to be still used.

The facade is like this↓ The outside of the house looks modern, but when you enter it, you can go back to the world in the 1950's.

Wow! It is a typical house in the 1050's. The wall was made with cement plaster. Look at the sliding door! I watched it at my grandma's house when I was a child!

This is a stereotype of kerosene heater in the 20th century!!!

The resister looks very traditional, too!
It used to be a normal house built by grandfather of the owner and was renovated as a restaurant recently!

It has a Japanese room with tatami↓ We really enjoy this comfortable atmosphere!

Almost all ingredients, such as buckwheat, daikon radishes, wasabi condiment, yams, carrots, black beans and butter lettuce, were grown in their own vegetable fields.

They are the menus, including kasiwaseiro (soba with chicken), butaseiro (soba with pork), black been rice,

mushroom soba, soba with kakiage tempura of carrot and gobo (burdock root),

several other cold soba, and hot soba.

First, black been rice and grated yam were served.

The color of rice is naturally changed to pink due to the pigment of the beans.

Pour the grated yam on the rice and eat it! Yummy x 2!!!

This is soba with chicken soup.

Please dip this cold soba into

this hot soup with naganegi onion and chicken!

This is soba with kakiage tempura!

It's HUGE and very delicious!
When you come to this restaurant, please order this gobo (burdock root) and carrot tempura! It's really recommendable!

Soba noodles here are a little bit thin like this↓

Dip it in the special soy sauce-flavored soup.

Last but not least, we ordered a very Japanese sweet!

This is yomogimochi wrapped with bamboo leaves↓

Yomogimochi is a rice-flour dumpling mixed with yomogi (maugwort).

When you have a bite, adzuki bean jam will appear like this↓ Looks very Japanese sweet♪

We really enjoyed the dishes they served and this traditional Japanese atmosphere!
