Jyozankei Grand Hotel (定山渓グランドホテル)| Room with Hot Spring | Sapporo

We enjoyed hot spring at "Jyozankei Grand Hotel (定山渓グランドホテル)" in Jyozankei (定山渓), a famous hot spring area, 40 minutes away from downtown Sapporo.

Guess what?
I stayed at a room with private hot spring!! How wonderful it is!!! Look at the room.

The sofa is large enough for me to relax....

Except the Western room, I have a Japanse room, too!! Wow! Wow! Wow!!

I really love the outdoor hot spring! As my room has private hot spring, I can take it whenever I want to. Actually I enjoyed it four times during our stay.
(Just for reference, the hotel has large outdoor and indoor hot spring for all guests, too, and my guests from Indonesia prefer the big ones.)

The water contains a lot of natural salt, making my skin very smooth.....

 Dinner time!!
(The breakfasat buffet is not good, unfortunately.... and I omit to show the pics.... Hahaha!)

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at a dinning place at the hotel.

They have Japanese tatami rooms and

table area. Which do you prefer???

The restaurant has a drinking bar, and I love it!

Let's get started!

Hokkaido remind my guests of king crabs! Yummy x 2!!

The trout is appropriately fatty and goes well with sake!

We also enjoyed fresh local seafood such as tuna, sea bream, whelk, and Jumbo shrimp (ボタンエビ).

If you love Japanese set dishes, you must love all of them!

After dinner, we enjoyed fireworks display from hotel rooms!!

Isn't it wonderful to enjoy fireworks while lying down on a sofa at a room?

We really had a wonderful time in Jyozankei (定山渓), Sapporo.

Indonesian Soup & Soup Curry Asian Bar RAMAI (ラマイ札幌中央店)| Sapporo

I'm now working with Indonesian guests.
As they said, "We're fed up with Japanese food", we took them to "Asian Bar RAMAI (ラマイ札幌中央店)", an Indonesian curry restaurant so that I hope they feel relaxed in the cozy atmosphere although their food and interiors are not authentic Indonesian ones.

The restaurant is like this↓
Very interesting!!They are from Indonesia. They pointed out that the restaurant is 80% correct, saying, for example, the attire the staff is wearing is actually pajamas in their country and so on........ I've learned a lot about their country....

This is the menu↓
If I went there without them, I would order a different curry. But based on their advise, I ordered something new.....

This is the biggest rice named "Kintamani (キンタマーニ)".
I was soooooooooooo surprised at the size and the name!!!
As they are not teenagers, I told them what kin○○ma means in Japanese..... Then they were soooooooooo surprised at the meaning in Japanese! Hahaha!

This is a regular size rice, just for reference.....

This is coco ramai (ココラマイ)↓, a special ramai with additional coco milk.
I love it! It is only 200 yen!!! Unbelievable!!!

Voila!!!
We enjoyed something Indonesian and Sapporo.
Actually soup curry is one of the most popular local cuisines in Sapporo.

This is beef curry with "Tahu Goreng (タフゴレン)", deep-fired tofu. They said this is a popular curry topping in their country. I didn't know that!!!

This is chicken curry with cheese. I think this is a safer choice! Hahaha!

I tried "Buhi (ブヒッ)"↓ Do you know what buhi means?

It means thinly sliced pork

We had a wonderful and beneficial time at the restaurant!!

Ashiribetsu Waterfall (アシリベツの滝)| Takino Suzuran Hillside National Government Park (国営滝野すずらん丘陵公園)

Have you ever watched ice falls? Here in Sapporo, some beautiful ice falls can be seen during the winter time. Today I'll show you "Ashiribetsu Waterfall (アシリベツの滝)", one of the most famous ones.
Now we are in "Takino Suzuran Hillside National Government Park (国営滝野すずらん丘陵公園)", located in the southern part of Sapporo.↓

Look at the thermometer↓ The temperature here is - 7.2C. Not bad for local residents like me. Hahaha!

Snow shoes can be borrowed at the Takino Park Information Center (滝野公園案内所). Of course free of charge.....

Let's go to the ice fall!!
It takes only 40 minutes from the information center to the ice fall. Sounds perfect, doesn't it?

You can go to the ice wall without wearing snow shoes, but if you wear them, you can walk on fresh snow outside of the walking course. Fresh snow here is very fluffy and you must love it!!

Look at Atsubetsu river (厚別川)↓ Snow lumps on the river look like marshmallows! How cute they are!!

Trees along the course are covered with snow like this↓

"Water ouzel course (カワガラスコース)" to the ice fall is flat, with cross country ski course and waking trail side by side. Next time I want to try cross country skiing to the waterfall! Actually I love exercising!

The course is basically along the river, and we can enjoy taking pictures while walking on the course. The scenery here is so beautiful that we feel as if time passes very quickly!

If you find this sign, you are around the corner.

We've arrived at "Ashiribetsu Waterfall (アシリベツの滝)"!

The cascade is 26m high, and designated as one of the most famous 100 waterfalls in Japan (日本の滝100選).

Voila!!
How marvelous it is!
We couldn't say anything for a while because it is pretty beautiful!

Water is not completely frozen. Look at this↓ Ice falls are in front of waterfalls. Amazing and dynamic!!!

Please enjoy it from the different angle.
I really recommend the waterfall from the bottom of my heart.

All of my guests love the waterfall, and I'm sure I'll be back with my other guests in the near future!
