Rakkyo Main Shop (らっきょ本店)| Soup Curry Restaurant in Sapporo

Sapporo has a lot of delicious local cuisines such as sushi, ramen, crabs, Jingisukan (Genghis Khan) - lamb BBQ - and so on..........

Actually soup curry is one of them. I'll show you one of the popular soup curry restaurants in Sapporo today.

The owner is on a TV commercial and you can get the curry soup in supermarkets throughout Japan. You must be interested in the main restaurant!

This restaurant is always packed with customers like this↓ During the lunch hours, you may wait for a while, but it's worth coming here!

This is an ordinary menu. You can choose the hotness of the soup from very mild to veeeeeeeeeery hot (for Japanese people) :-)

If you have never eaten soup curry, I recommend chicken curry, including several vegetables and a whole leg part.

They have special services during the lunch hours.
■A set includes salad and drink or gelato (plus 250 yen).
■B set includes juice or gelato (plus 110 yen)

I ordered two B sets because I want to drink juice and eat dessert, too!!!

As this restaurant is so popular that I often come here and have eaten almost all items on the ordinary menu, I ordered one of the monthly menus: "Summer special; coconut soup curry".

This is one portion of rice.

And this is the soup curry I ordered. Usually we eat rice dipped in the soup.
Look at the lettuce on the soup! It refreshes you during eating something spicy!

The ingredients are cut into large pieces like this↓ This is one of the characteristics of soup curry.

Look at this! The carrot is very big, isn't it??

The shimeji mushroom is also divided into the large amount!

I love seafood!  The clams are very plump!!

It has penne pasta, too! I guess it's a very unique ingredient for curry!

Giant tiger prawns really suit this coconut soup!

Look at the potato! It looks like a normal potato, but it isn't!

The restaurant uses different potatoes depending on the seasons.
Today they use a verity named "Northern ruby".  Why ruby????

This is purple pink inside!!! Looks very cute and actually very delicious!
It has more anthocyanin, which is good for your eyes and helps produce collagen in your skin! perfect, isn't???

I ordered their especial gelato sold this season only. Do you have any idea what flavor this is?

It's salt vanilla gelato! I love it!

There are a lot of soup curry restaurants in Sapporo and each has their own original recipe! Plz try some of them and compare them each other!

Egg House (たまごの家)| Egg Vending Machines in Yumi

There are a lot of kinds of vending machines in the world; drinks, tobacco, ice cream and so on. But have you ever heard or seen EGG vending machines in your community?

When I found it, I was soooooooooooo surprised!!! This "Egg House" is in Yuni, which is 1.5 hrs away from Sapporo and

blessed with the nature!

A local poultry husbandman runs these vending machines and always keeps the fresh free-range-eggs in the dispensers!!

Let's enter the "house"!
There are several kinds of eggs or egg products there!

■Egg soup (light): You can buy soup, too!!
■Eggs with double yolk (middle and right): I'm really interested in double yolk.! When you make sunny-side up with this egg, it should be very cute!

■Hot spring eggs (Eggs boiled in hot spring) with its special soup (left): Have you heard that hot spring eggs can be bought from a machine? I cannot believe it!
■White Free-range-eggs (middle): Sounds very delicious!
■Brown eggs (right): These have a lot of minerals!

■Jumbo eggs: They are bigger than I thought! I guess they are twice bigger than usual small eggs!

If you need some coins to buy eggs, plz use this change machine in the Egg House! Perfect!

Small eggs (left and middle): A bag has 30 eggs at the cost of 300 yen!
Smoked eggs (right):Wow! I want to buy them, because

they are GOLD!!!

Why GOLD????

They look unnecessarily beautiful and nice :-)
I like the name of the eggs: Golden Egg!!!!

It's shiny :-)

When you peel the eggshell, it becomes a normal smoked egg (of course).

I cut the egg and ate it with beer :-)

We really enjoyed the egg vending machines and Golden Eggs!

■Where is Egg House?
It opens 24 hrs a day.

Tomato Noodles Vegie (トマト麺 Vegie) | Tomato Noodle Restaurant | Shiroishi in Sapporo

I've found a unique noodle restaurant in Shiroisihi, Sapporo!
Have you ever heard tomato noodles? If you haven't, plz go and enjoy this restaurant, "Tomato Noodles Vegie"↓

The restaurant is so fashionable that I guess ladies must love this atmosphere!!

We can see the chef cooking dishes, from the counter seats.

I took a seat in front of the kitchen and enjoying observing how to make the noodles :-)

This is a menu for lunch, having two sets mainly; a set of tomato noodles and roasted onigiri (rice ball), and a set of soybean milk noodles with mushrooms and roasted onigiri. I order the tomato noodles set, but both of them sounds very healthy!

Look at the tomato noodles! We eat the dish with chopsticks and a spoon.

The soup contains a lot of collagen from chicken bones, mixing with their original tomato sauce! And it is topped with a lot of seasonable vegetables! Very healthy, isn't it? :-)

The noodles are more like ramen than pasta, but I have to say it is a new type of noodles!

When you are about to eat up the noodles, the chef serves you a roasted onigiri with cheese.

Put it and mix it with the remaining soup.

You can enjoy cheese tomato risotto like this↓
Yummy x 2!

I'm so happy to find this restaurant serving unique and delicious noodles :-)
Why don't you try it?

Miso Ramen with Naganegi Onion | Taiho (大鵬) | Ramen Restaurant | Kuriyama

In Kuriyama, 40 min. away from Sapporo, there is a famous ramen shop, which has a long line in front on of it any time you go. The most popular ramen there is miso ramen topped with a lot of sliced naganegi onion!

I'll show you the restaurant today!
I guess Kuriyama reminds a lot of ramen lovers of "Taiho", the ramen shop↓

In order to avoid a long line, we arrived there at around 1:30, but look at it! About 10 people were still waiting for the delicious ramen in front of the restaurant! Unbelievable!!

There are a lot of ramens on the menu, but I guess 90% of the customers order "miso ramen with naganegi onion".

It's not a big restaurant, but the ramen chef rhythmically and quickly cooks ramen and we don't have to wait for long time that you might imagine.

This is the miso ramen with naganegi onion!!!!! Yummy x 2!!!!
The naganegi is grown in Kuriyama, an agricultural area. It is mixed with hot miso paste.

This is miso ramen with naganegi onion and extra char siu (sliced pork). I ordered it because I love meat, too :-)

The portion is very big like this↓  I put my iPhone next to the ramen so that you can imagine the size!

The soup is also delicious! It's very rich and piquant! Other ramen shops cannot copy the art!

The char siu is very tender!

The noodles are like this↓ They use the noodles produced at Nishiyama seimen Inc., one of the traditional ramen noodle producers in Sapporo.

I like this menma (bamboo shoot), a typical ramen topping.

You can adjust the hotness with this chili oil, garlic, and hot miso paste.

It's worth eating this ramen, even through you have to drive for 40 min form Sapporo and wait for  20 min. averagely before you take a seat.
