Uomasa (魚真)| Sushi Bar | Otaru (小樽)

I enjoyed a huge amount of sushi set for lunch today. This is "Uomasa (魚真)" near JR Otaru Station

Hello!!!

Look at the menu↓ All of them are very reasonable!!!!

This is "Uomasa Nigiri (魚真にぎり)"↓ Can you believe that this sushi set is only 2,600 yen???? Wow! Wow! Wow! Unfortunately I don't like syari, rice part, very much, but really impressed with the cost effectiveness!!!

The set includes abalone,

Botanebi prown, Sakhalin surf clam,

sea urchin, and

Dobinmushi (土瓶蒸し), seafood and mushroom soup steam-boiled in an earthenware teapot↓

We were full!!!! Surprisingly, after lunch, we went to a cafe to eat cheese cake!!

Sushidokoro Fukucho (寿し処 福長)| Sushi Bar | Kitahirosima (北広島)

If you want to eat delicious but very reasonable sushi for lunch, how about "Sushidokoro Fukucho (寿し処 福長)" located in Kitahiroshima (北広島), 20 minutes away from Sapporo?

This sushi bar is very popular especially among office workers around here.

They serve two kinds of lunch sets; one of them is like this↓

The set comes with eight pieces of sushi including maki, and ..............

steamed dumplings (シュウマイ)↓

Can you guess how much is the set?
The answer is
1,680 yen!!!
Unbelievable!!

But it is too early to be surprised!
Look at the other lunch set↓

It includes 12 pieces of sushi and ...............

huge salmon soup.

How small the iPhone looks! Hahaha!

The set is only 1,050 yen!!!
Wow! Wow! Wow! I love this sushi bar!

Takara Sushi (宝すし)| Sushi Bar | Otaru

If you'd like to go to local authentic sushi bars, not sushi bars for tourists, how about "Takara Sushi (宝すし)" in Otaru?

It's not a big sushi bar with a counter and a few dine tables.

Personally, I recommend today's special. They use only carefully selected seafood! Sounds wonderful, doesn't it?

First, miso soup with sea lettuce was served. Well, well, well, the sushi show will start! Hahaha!

Look at these!! Looks obviously different from normal sushi, right? The chef's choices today were (from right) herring roe, king crab, botan prawn, toki shirazu salmon, striped jack, Pacific bluefin tuna, and kelp-marinated hime. Yummy x 2!! You don't have to dip it in soy sauce. The chef selects the best soy sauce for each sushi, and brushes it on each one! Look at the tuna! It was melting in my mouse!!!

How about three kinds of shellfish; abalone, Sakhalin surf clam, and scallop? All of them were, of course, caught off Hokkaido! Taste more than perfect!!!

The chef at this bar makes new sushi, just after I eat up the previous ones. I love this timing!

Otaru reminds a lot of people of mantis shrimps, which are really delicious and recommendable!

When you come here, you cannot miss conger sushi, which is the most popular sushi in this restaurant! It is crispy outside, and very juicy inside!

Just for reference, this is a reasonable set named "Takara Nigiri (宝握)"↓

If you'd like to enjoy an authentic sushi bar, I really recommend "Takara Sushi (宝すし)" in Otaru.

Hisago Zushi (ひさご寿し)| Sushi Bar | Hakodate

I'm still in Hakodate (函館)↓

As I had one hour before the meeting, I dropped by "Hisago Zushi (ひさご寿し)" by JR Hakodate Station↓

When you come to Hakodate, you should try its fresh seafood!

I ordered a "Matsu (松)" sushi set↓ Among these sushi, I love ................

abalone and sea urchin especially.
The abalone was so fresh that it was still alive before my order! The sea urchin tasted very milky and rich!!

Look at the Sakhalin surf clam, which was very sweet, and the texture was wonderful!

The garganey was at its best in this season, and put on fat!! Super delicious!

The soup has some ....................

Sakhalin surf clam, and I could fully enjoy Hokkaido seafood.

Last but not least, the sushi chef made an extra sushi for me. How lucky I was!
This is herring, and I love it the best!!
If you have more than one hour for dinner, I really recommend chef's specials, and eat only seasonable ones like this, not a set menu↓

Sushizen Main Restaurant (すし善本店)| Booked for a Party | Sapporo

"Sushizen Main Restaurant (すし善本店)" is an authentic and traditional sushi bar on the Michelin Guidebook Hokkaido (ミシェランガイドブック北海道), and the chief chef is selected as one of the three greatest sushi chefs in Japan.
The other day I booked the restaurant, and had a birthday party for one of my tour guests.

If it's available, we can fully book the detached restaurant house for ourselves only. Perfect!

This is a surprise party that a wife of a tour member and I planed secretly!! He was so happy to find the banner above the chefs!
"Happy birthday, Mr. ○○!!"

Chefs cook meals just in front of us! We were so excited to see them cook beautifully.

Cheers!

Everything is very sophisticated. The crab was carefully selected.

I ordered seasonable sashimi only, including chutoro (中トロ) caught off Ooma (大間), a very expensive brand tuna.

By the time we enjoyed the brilled yellowtail, we switched champagne to sake (日本酒).

Sake really goes well with Japanese dishes!!!

A big and sweet scallop is covered with very fluffy egg! Yummy x 2!!!

The high-quality hairy crab made us drink sake more! Hahaha!

While they made sushi, we sang "Happy Birthday", and enjoyed dancing here. As the house is separated to the main restaurant, we could fully enjoy the special day!

Actually I asked the main chef to make the sushi, because as I mentioned, he is selected as one of the three greatest sushi chefs in Japan!

The conger sushi was served while it was hot! Sounds professional, doesn't it?

Last but not least, we enjoyed this green tea mouse, and a birthday cake!

"Sushizen Main Restaurant (すし善本店)" is an authentic sushi bar and naturally expensive, but when you come here during the lunch hours, the sushi sets are served reasonably.
