FARM TOMITA (ファーム富田) in Early August | Lavender Farm | Naka-Furano

FARM TOMITA is one of Hokkaido’s premier flower farms. Originally a simple lavender farm, today the farm has expanded to include a number of large fields of various flower types, including Poppies, French Marigolds, and many more.

The most famous image of the farm is that of the ‘rainbow field’ created by planting rows of different flowers along the gentle rolling hills. The image is unforgettable and each year visitors come to photograph the fields made famous by their use in a nation wide Japan Rail calendar.

The farm has several different flower fields like this↓

Among them, we visited "HANABITO field" near the parking lot, because it is the most beautiful in this season!
Wow wow wow! We were so impressed with the wonderful flowers!!!

Lavenders are over the peak season, but the other flowers are more than perfect!

The park is packed with a lot of people, and you may not park a car near the park..... Please be careful!!

But it's worth coming here! I love this farm!!

It's like a rainbow carpet!

The field now includes the lobelia, agereatum, soaproot, poppy, periwinkle and so on.

After enjoying this farm, please enjoy lavender and melon ice cream! Yummy x 2!!

The farm serve other delicious desserts such as lavender cake, lavender cream puff, lavender jelly, lavender pudding, melon buns and so on.

In the previous post, you can also see the details of the lavender goods in the biggest lavender shop called "HANABITO House" and flowers in the late-May in FARM TOMITA.

In the late May to late August, you can enjoy the different flower combinations depending on the season! Why don't you enjoy the beautiful flower garden in Furano!

If you are interested in this flower field in other seasons, please refer to my other posts!

Furanoya (ふらのや)| Curry Restaurant | Sapporo

That popular curry restaurant launched its branch in Sapporo the other day.
This is "Furanoya (ふらのや)" whose main restaurant is located in Furano and always has a long queue in front of the shop.

Look at the panel near the entrance, saying they serve curry with duck meatballs and pork cutlet! Sounds very good!

Wow! Wow! Wow! They also serve curry ramen in the winter time!!! Am I in the heaven? Hahaha!

Let's enter it!
I love this homey atmosphere. We felt as if we were in the forest in Furano!!

This is the menu.
Just for reference, chicken curry is served at reasonable prices now!!

After deciding a kind of curry, we can select broth, and amount of spice & rice. Of course I ordered a big portion of rice!

Voila!
This is paste-type curry with hamburger steak (ふらのや 手ごねハンバーグのルーカレー). Paste-type curry is a typical Japaneses style curry.

The bouillon is made of local ingredients such as Hokkaido vegetables, pork, and chicken. Yummy x 2!!! The hamburger is HUGE and wonderful!!

This is soup-type curry with duck meatballs and Hokkaido vegetables (滝川産合鴨の肉団子と道産野菜のスープカレー). I ordered a shrimp-broth version.

Soup curry is a kind of soul food in Hokkaido, which usually has big chunks of vegetables and meat.
Among the toppings, I recommend grilled white radish! Yummy x 2!!!

The duck meat produced in Takikawa (滝川), Hokkaido, is very juicy!!

If you want it hotter, please use their own original spice!

Mission completed!

We enjoyed Hokkaido meat and vegetables very much!

Soh's BAR(ソーズバー) | Designer's Bar | Furano

Furano is a world of Mr. Sou Kuramoto (倉本 聡), one of the famous playwrights in Japan, making a lot of dramas and plays featuring Furano (富良野).
Today I'll show you Soh's BAR(ソーズバー) designed by Mr. Kuramoto.

It is located in the forest, about five minutes away from Ningle Terrace (ニングルテラス). (If you are interested in the Ningle Terrace, log house craft shops in the forest near Prince Hotel New Furano (新富良野プリンスホテル), please click here!)

Plz be careful when you go there especially during the winter time. The forest roads are dark and very slippery. Hahaha!

You don't have to worry about how to get there. After finding the sign, just follow the route.
Voila! This is the Soh's BAR(ソーズバー). There's nothing around the stone bar..........

Tobacco boxes are decorated on the wall like this.

There's NO non-smoking area here. Sounds very special, doesn't it? This is Mr. Kuramoto's idea....

As no young noisy people are here, we can be very relaxed in the peaceful atmosphere. Look at the fireplace! I like all the details of the bar.

Look out of the window. As it is located in the forest, the scenery is very special and soothing.

Although it has an open space like this, I recommend seats at counter.

How do you like it?
There is a big window in front of the counter. How romantic it is!!!

I ordered "Time of Forest (優しい時間)", their original cocktail, which is Mr. Kuramoto's famous drama's title.

Time slowly passes in the forest................

NINGLE TERRACE (ニングルテラス)| Shopping Road in the Forest | Furano

Ningle (ニングル) is the name of the dwarf that is believed by Ainu people to live in the forests in Hokkaido. Located in the Picnic Garden (ピクニックガーデン) adjacent to the Prince Hotel New Furano (新富良野プリンスホテル), 15 log cabins in the forest are all shops selling various kinds of handicrafts.

Let's go!

Ningle Terrace (ニングルテラス) has been created using natural materials with timber buildings and plank walkways around the waterfalls and trees.

The forest gives off a wonderful scent with pine trees and the waterfall creating a peaceful atmosphere for wandering around or stopping at the cafe.

This is a notice, saying "two Ningle families are living in the forest. Please do not raise your voice, nor stare at Ningles. Please take a side glance of them."

Craft creators sit in each shop, displaying and making their products as you wander around.
I'll show you some of their art works.

■Stump-shaped candles

■Walnut & pine cone ornaments

■Snowman-shaped kaleidoscopes

■Leather crafts

■Peanut shell ornaments

■Snow crystal-shaped accessories

The "Chu Chu House (チュチュの家)", a cafe serves a range of products including......................

hot and cold drinks, apple pies, cakes, and

baked milk!

Let's enter it!

I recommend to come here during the winter time, too!

Voila!
I ordered a a Swiss roll and baked milk set!

Yummy x 2!!

Have you ever tried baked milk?
It is cold sweet milk. The baked part tastes like milk pudding! Amazing, isn't it?

Just for reference, when you come here during the winter time, the scenery changes like this↓

I love this romantic atmosphere!!

I really enjoyed this area from the bottom of my heart!!
