Hakodate Morning Market （函館朝市）

The Hakodate Morning Market （函館朝市） is located south of JR Hakodate Station （JR函館駅）, and as its name indicates, has many shops operating in the morning from 5 a.m. (6 a.m. during the winter) to noon.
The roots of the market are in farmers selling their products in the plaza in front of the station after World War Ⅱ. The market subsequently moved to its present location and developed into its current form.
There are now over 450 shops mainly handing crabs, salmon, salmon roe, and other fresh seafood caught in the ocean around Hokkaido, but also including vegetables, fruits, dried goods, clothing and a wide variety of items.
Visitors can enjoy meals made from fresh ingredients at restaurants in the market, with a bowl of rice tipped with sashimi!
The market is always very bustling, with over 1.8 million shoppers visiting every year!

Well, well, well, let's go!

Each shop has some fishing tanks like this↓

Alive king crabs, botan prawns,

Pacific oysters,

scallops,

whelks,

Pacific flying squids........... All of them are very fresh and still moving!!

If you like to eat a seafood bowl, I recommend the restaurant alley called Donburi Yokocho Ichiba （どんぶり横丁市場） in the market.

Tastes very yummy x 2!!!

One of the popular attractions here is a big seawater tank for fishing squid.

After we enjoy fishing squid, a chef cooks (slices) it. Would you like to eat very fresh sashimi?

See?? It is translucent and still moving!!! I love it!

One of my guests works in the fishing industry, and wanted to eat fresh sea urchin. We tried sea urchin reserved in the sea water （海水ウニ） first↓

Soon after that, we found some fresh (alive) horse-dung sea urchin in the market!

This was super yummy x 2!!!!

We also enjoyed hairy crabs, even after a big breakfast at hotel! Hahaha!

You may be surprised, but we wanted to eat something sweet, too, and found this local melon! it was very juicy and recommendable!!

During the summer time, you can enjoy super-delicious Yubari Melon here!!

And again we wanted to eat something salty, and enjoyed this grilled whelk!

We fully enjoyed the Hakodate Morning Market （函館朝市）!

VERY VERY STRAWBERRY （ベリーベリーストロベリー）| Italian Cafe Restaurant | Otaru

Would you like to take a rest in downtown Otaru, eating delicious desserts? If so, how about "VERY VERY STRAWBERRY （ベリーベリーストロベリー）"?

This is an Italian cafe restaurant.

They serve delicious pasta and pie, but I personally recommend their yummy desserts.

I ordered a "strawberry & pudding parfait" named "Very Very Strawberry", the most popular dessert in this cafe restaurant. You must be surprised at the size! This is for four to five persons, but I ate it alone! Hahaha!

Voila!
This is "Very Very Strawberry", a huge gelato & pudding tower!!!

This home-made raspberry gelato is sour and sweet!! Yummy x 2!!!

The vanilla gelato is very milky, and the pie is so flaky! I love this gelato mille-feuille tower!!!

Look at the a lot of strawberries and raspberries!! Perfect!

Without this delicious pudding, I wouldn't recommend this dessert! This pudding is very rich and mild!!!

MISSU HOUSE FUSHIMI MAIN SHOP （ミッシュハウス伏見本店）| Ice Cream & Parfait Cafe | Sapporo

This is one of my favorite gelato parlors in Sapporo, located near Mt. Moiwa.

They have a take-out corner on the first floor, and I recommend..........

"Zenzai monaka （ぜんざいモナカ）", vanilla ice cream with red bean jam! Yummy x 2!

Look at this poster! Their crab ice cream, sunflower seed ice cream, and coffee ice cream got awards in the FOODEX JAPAN2012!
Actually they make more than 10 flavors, and I've tried eight of them! All of them are so delicious that I'm crazy about their ice cream!

We went to the second floor to eat some parfait today!

As it is a sunny day today, we chose terrace seats!

It is always packed with ice cream & parfait lovers like this↓

Let us check the menu! They serve monthly parfait. We must order it of course!!!

How about seasonal limited parfait? We should also order it!! Hahaha!

This is "Lemon berry parfait （レモンベリーパフェ）", available only during the summer time. The raspberry mousse and lemon jelly really go well with the lemon ice cream! Perfect for the summer time!!!

This is "Mango fruit parfait （マンゴフルーツパフェ）", a monthly parfait in August. It is filled with mango, my favorite fruit!!! I really love mango mousse below the delicious milk ice cream!!! Yummy x 2!!

How about "Green tea parfait （抹茶パフェ）"?

Their green tea ice cream taste very creamy, and this is one of my favorite items in this cafe!

Furano Wine House （ふらのワインハウス）| Restaurant | Furano

Furano is famous not only for its lavenders, but also for its wine, cheese, melons, and ice cream. Today, I'll show you "Furano Wine House （ふらのワインハウス）", a restaurant serving the local  wine, cheese, and so on.

As it is located on the hill, we can enjoy the Tokachidake mountain range （十勝岳連峰） and the whole picture of the city from the restaurant. Wonderful, isn't it?

Let's enter it!

I recommend tables near the windows so that you can enjoy the beautiful scenery!

The most popular dish here is cheese fondue, which is made of delicious local cheese!

If you feel it big, they serve the smaller version (right)!

Of course, don't forget their wine!

I ordered a small cheese fondue and hamburger steak set! The best combination, isn't it?

Yummy x 2!! It's very creamy!!

And this is very juicy!!!

The main dishes go well with plain  rice!! Of course, this is Hokkaido rice!

Furano Wine （富良野ワイン） is delicious, but personally grape juice made of local grape is also very recommendable! Please try it!

After lunch, we walked around the restaurant, and relaxed for a while!
