53rd Sapporo Lilac Festival 2011 | Odori Park in Sapporo

Lilacs are the city flower of Sapporo and the 53rd Lilac Festival was held in Odori Park from May 25th to 29th.

Odori Park (大通公園) is the broad median of Odori ("large street") in the center of Sapporo, separating the city into north and south. The park stretches about a kilometer and a half over twelve city blocks and offers pleasant green space during the warmer months. In early February, the park serves as the main site of the Sapporo Snow Festival.

Several kinds of trees line the park!! Look at the purple lilacs!!

I like the white ones, too!

In this season, we can enjoy a lot of colorful flowerbeds in the park like this↓

Except lilacs, you can enjoy Japanese wisterias like this↓

How about white azaleas! Very beautiful, aren't they?

The festival is over, but we can enjoy a lot of wonderful flowers in the park right now, too.

If you are hungry, plz enjoy Hokkaido corn! The corn stands are a kind of seasonal features in Odori Park!

If you want to enjoy as a tourist very much, how about the horse cart? 40-min-ride gives you a wonderful memory of Sapporo downtown!

Now is one of the best seasons to enjoy flowers in Odori Park!

TV Tower@Odori Park in Sapporo♪

I happened to walk in Odori park last night and I've realized that our TV tower is very beautiful!
So far, I felt as if it were nothing special or used to the stunning landmark.......
Look at this tower (147.2m)! It is located at the end of Odori park in Sapporo.

Beautiful, isn't it?
Of course during some special occasions such as Sapporo Snow Festival and White Illumination, I do walk on the streets "on the ground", but usually I use "undergrounds" to avoid strong wind or traffic lights especially at night.

I was so happy to stroll on the street near Odori yesterday.
I'm proud of our local treasure!
