Conchiglie (コンキリエ) ① | Roadside Station (道の駅) | Akkeshi

Conchiglie (コンキリエ) is a roadside station on a hill in Akkeshi.

Look at the scenery! We can see the whole town and Ocean from the hill.

We didn't do anything, just relax for a while! I love this atmosphere!

Well, well, well, let's enter the building!
First, we went to a souvenir corner on the 1st floor.! Akkeshi is an oyster town. We've found some unique souvenirs!

This is an oyster-shaped strap! How cute it is!

This is an oyster-shaped monaka (bean-jam-filled wafer).

It got one of the best awards at the 2nd Japanese Sweets Exhibition (第二回全国和菓子大品評会). I really recommend it!

Oyster curry sounds very delicious, doesn't it?

Wow! Wow! Wow! How about oyster candies? I think this is too much! Hahaha!

Except oyster souvenirs, we've also found some funny items!
How about "Black Lovers (黒い恋人)"? It is obviously a parody of "White Lovers (白い恋人)" produced by Ishiya. Hahaha!

I love the name of the juice! "Lalala La France (ララララ・フランス)" sounds very cute!

Let's eat something cold!

They serve three kinds of ice cream, all of which are named after the city's tourist attractions.

■Daikoku Island Cup (大黒島カップ)
This is soft ice cream topped with soy flour and brown cane sugar sauce. Bracken-starch dumping , another topping, are also delicious! Yummy x 2!

■Bekanbeushi Wetland Cup (別寒辺牛湿原)
I love this green tea sauce and crushed walnuts!

■Ai Cup (愛カップ)
The rice-flour dumplings are very yummy x 2!!

They also serve several other desserts such as tapioca drink

We really enjoyed local ice cream!
On the 2nd floor, there are two restaurants including a BBQ corner

We enjoyed fresh seafood from the heart!

To be continued→

Yabusoba (藪蕎麦) | Soba Restaurant | Akkeshi

Akkeshi is famous for its delicious oysters.

Let's eat super-great oyster soba in the station area! Bravo!!! Actually, I love oysters produced in this town very much!

Let's enter it!

They serve several kinds of soba and other dishes, but I recommend these three;

oyster soba, oyster bowl, and asari clam bowl. I ordered the first one. Whenever I come to this town, I always eat this tasty soba!! Hahaha!

Voila!
This is oyster soba!

The delicious homemade soba is topped with freshly deep-fried oyster tempura, which is crispy outside and juicy inside!

It tastes very milky, creamy, dense, and rich!! I love it!!

The juice of oyster is poured into the soba soup, with which the soba is entangled! Yummy x 2!!

It is so delicious that some newspapers feature it!

When you come to Akkeshi, please try oyster dishes! You must be impressed with the appetizing oysters!

Ujiie Machiaijyo (氏家待合所) | Akkeshi Dining (あっけし食堂) | Akkeshi

It takes about 50 minutes from Kushiro by local train.

We've arrived in Akkeshi, which is an.....................

oyster town! Oysters produced in this town are much much more delicious than normal ones!! Actually Akkeshi is one of the best oyster production sites in Japan!

Let's eat oyster rice! You can buy an oyster ekiben (which means a box lunch sold at stations) at the Kiosk in JR Akkeshi station.

It looks very delicious, but would you like to eat freshly-made oyster rice? Yes, of course!

I've already made a reservation for it! "Ujiie Machiaisyo (氏家待合所)" or "Akkeshi Dining (あっけし食堂)" in front of the station makes yummy oyster rice ekiben depending on your arrival time! Perfect!

"Hello!!", a friendly owner said to me.

This ekiben won the grand prix at the Hokkaido Ekiben Competition 2011 (北海道駅弁選手権2011).

Even several celebrities came here all the way from Tokyo to eat this ekiben!

Voila!
It smells very oysters before I open it!!!

If you love seafood, you must be crazy about the rice! It has .............

some plump oysters,

juicy whelks, and

asari clams! The rice absorbs delicious seafood juice and special sauce!! Yummy x 2!!

Now I understand why it has long been popular since the beginning of sales in 1963!
